Skoggins is a directory site that allows bands to list for free, and lets people search for live performers for events in their area. It seems a fairly straightforward idea.
Your thoughts? Is this a solution for events bookings? Something to add to your arsenal? Worth the bother of registering? Had a booking through them? Let us know in the comments.

Just checked their example of California venues. Since I’ve spent the last 7 days straight working on booking a two-month US Tour (including dates in California) I was somewhat interested to check out the site.
No doubt it will be a valuable resource to some, but the venue lists and networks I’ve been using to find places to play at were far more useful to me. Pretty much all of the venues listed on this site for California are some of the larger venues and then tons of shitty pubs.
As an indie artist neither are of interest to me. I look for DIY venues, basements, cafes, art galleries, smallish venues, etc. In regard to the sub-100 capacity venues I thought Skoggins was not much help at all.
I won’t be paying it too much attention at this point. If I end up exhausting my other sources, and need an extra one or two dates to fill gaps, I might come back to the site for a second look.
Fingers crossed I won’t need to! :)
