The team at New Music Strategies

For the past few years, New Music Strategies has been a blog about music on the internet. And the need for me to do that has changed as time has gone on.

As I’ve hinted over the past couple of months, it’s time for a transformation – and New Music Strategies is becoming something new.

Today in a city called Groningen in the north of the Netherlands, I brought together a small group of some of the finest minds in music and culture in Europe (who also happen to be some of my favourite people), and together we formed a new company under the New Music Strategies banner.

We are equal partners in the business, and we all have different skills and expertise. We’ll introduce the members of the team soon, but I thought this would be a good moment to explain who we are and what we do.

WHO WE ARE:
We are a pan-European strategy group for music culture, creativity and development. We are based in the UK, the Netherlands and Germany, and represent a wide range of expertise in the music and cultural industries.

WHAT WE DO:
Initiate ideas and projects, and work in partnership with organisations to make the most of music in response to transformative media technologies. We use our creativity, curiosity and expertise to make a difference and simplify the new music environment.

In other words, we work with people we like on cool projects about music and culture – and help bring more music to more people in more places.

FOR INSTANCE…
We help music businesses make strategic decisions about innovative projects.

We work with NGOs to use music to achieve their objectives.

We generate new ideas with music organisations.

We create information products and run workshops within existing industry events.

We combine our expertise to initiate innovative projects that enhance and celebrate music culture.

And a lot more.

WHAT WE DON’T DO
Make you famous on the internet.
Manage bands.
Predict the future.

Of course, what we do will take place here at this website – and you can expect to see this site change quite radically over the next week or two.

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
