This might actually qualify as the dumbest online music business act of stupidity I have yet encountered. And that’s really saying something.
This is the sort of web design over which people should not only lose their jobs, but be disbarred or whatever the web equivalent of having your medical practitioner’s licence revoked might be.

If you want to make money from music, and you want to use the internet to help you out with that, then building a website that promotes what you do is a good start — but it’s hardly the end of the story.
It’s one thing to write the greatest book in the world, but if all you’re going to do is put it in a library and hope people check it out, you may as well not have bothered. If you want it to have been worth your while, you have to tell people about it. While you’re at it, why not see if you can get other people to tell their people about it?
Online, we call that viral marketing. In the real world, they call it ‘word of mouth’.

There’s a mistake a lot of music businesses make with their website. Doesn’t seem to matter whether they’re self-employed singer-songwriters, retailers, venues, lables or equipment manufacturers, they get it wrong in equal measure.
The site could look great, and have all the right elements in place - but if they mess up with the URL (and a lot of them do) then it’s all been a bit of a waste of effort.
