Thanks for the clarification paul and dubber, I agree with you that it is a mind/time-sucking vortex. The online culture seems to turn most good and effective sites/things into time-wasters. : (

Use TubeMogul for video distribution and stat management.

And then there is Tunecore for online digital distribution and management.

Hi guys,

Paul has it more or less right. Facebook is, for me, a time waster in the sense that the balance of the site has tipped from useful connection-making and invitations to genuine events, over to the land of Fun Walls, zombies, 'what drink are you?' quizzes and the like.

I think the status update thing is brilliant - like having ESP - but one of the things I love about Twitter is that's ALL it does. I look active on Facebook because my profile is updated from my twitter feed. I hardly ever go on to the site, because of the tendency to get sucked into what I refer to as 'the Facebook Vortex'.

Aron, I believe he was refering to facebook as a waste of time in the way you go there, start looking up old friends and poof 4 hours has elapsed... at least that's the way it always seems to work for me :P

Anyway great post Andrew! I too have been caught in the information quagmire.
