In the past I have gotten pretty into Franklin Covey as well as "Getting Things Done" principles. Have first implemented them devotly and then modified for my work style. However, in both systems I usually also have something very similar to what you describe here as well.

The complex systems are great for 1. Getting a bird's eye view of the big picture 2. Making sure your day-today actions are connected to your big picture and 3. Making sure things don;t slip through the cracks (like responding to someone's email, missing an appointment or losing an important document) they can actually get in the way of action. So on top of any system I use I have a little stick note where I write down the 3 to 5 things I will accomplish that day.

I will now try and add the "do it tomorrow" part you describe as well to get all that subconscious brain matter working for me. Thanks for the tip!

Excellent advise. As in all things in life, every little bit of praise helps. The more you can say a good thing instead of a bad thing, the better everything will be.

Cheers!
