There are many such online mastering companies to choose from and many will offer a free preview master so you can be sure that the quality is up to your expectations. In addition there are a number of people abusing the "online" model. You would do well to ensure the studio your choose has engineer's background, photo's of the equipment and high end speakers and a decent recent clients list.

cheers

I just recently got my album mastered this way. It is truly the future of music production. The mastering studio I worked with was Supreme Mastering

http://www.suprememastering.com

They really did a great job on my songs and the costs were moderate, I even got a 50% rebate as an indie artist. But I must admit it was quite difficult finding a professional studio that offers online mastering.

Nice one for these links. Here's another similar service that i have used in the past that I thought would be appropriate here. They'll cut a one off vinyl record from a track uploaded to their server, and deliver it the next day. They claim the records will last as long as commercial ones, and they'll even do a little mastering on it.

Cool post - very informative from the point of view of possible mastering houses. I shall definately do a linkback to this when I get my blog sorted (eventually...). If that is okay?! :)
